Chapter 54 Meeting Notes: October 2010

The meeting called to order at 1:12pm by Chris Gunnufsen.

Self-Introductions:

September Meeting Minutes were read by Chris Gunnufsen.

Committee Reports(s):
Treasurer's Report was given by Treasurer Raymond Lenz.

Disbursements and receipts:

A check in the amount of $243.55 was written to Orapax for the
September meeting lunch. There have been no receipts.
Balance in Chapter Accounts:
Checking: $3,654.37
Certificate of Deposit: $2,004.22
Petty Cash: $269.05
Total Chapter Assets: $5,927.64

Elections: Votes were tallied for 2011:
Charles Stutsman was re-elected as President
Peter Dennant was elected Vice President
Treasurer: Ray Lenz was re-elected as Treasurer
Secretary: Billy Harrison was re-elected as Secretary

SBE National: Exam dates were discussed. The next deadline for
applications is December 31, 2010. The exam will be held in
February 2011.

Discussion on CAP v1.2. Advised to check the internet for more details.
The general consensus was all stations should be compliant by the
March/ April 2011 timeframe.

EAS: Charles Stutesman asked if anyone would be the EAS coordinator
for the chapter.

SBE National held a webinar - "The 'New' EAS: What Every Broadcaster
Needs to Know", on Thursday, August 19 at 2:00 pm. It is available free
ON-DEMAND if you want to see the replay of it. www.sbe.org, click on webinars

Certification: Exam dates and locations are on the SBE National website
and the SBE54 website.

Frequency Coordination: Discussion on wireless microphones and the
frequency coordination of wireless mics/IFBs. All in attendance
agreed that coordination on wireless mics/IFBs by all users should be
coordinated at a local level to avoid possible interference issues.

Web: Nothing to report.

Membership: Nothing to report.

Digital Transition: Nothing to report.

Program: Bob Howard of ICM Corporation presenting their line of
one-piece compression connectors for High Definition cables.
Carol Moore of Allied Electronics who is co-sponsoring our meeting
was also introduced and welcomed.

Meeting was adjourned at 2:40 PM.
