Committee Reports(s):

Treasurer: Frank Butler reported the following:
Checking: $2,855.09
Certificate of Deposit: $1,790.75
Petty Cash: $338.74
Disbursements: Received a check from Rohde & Schwarz in the amount
of $75.00 to renew their sustaining membership. Check 1087 in the amount
of $20.00 written to Ted Hand for postage.
Total Chapter Assets: $5,059.58

SBE National: Ted Hand attended the SBE National Meeting, September 26-27 in Verona, New York.
Board of Directors Jim Bernier and Ted Hand were named to the executive committee.

EAS: Keith O’Malley not present. A meeting took place between PBS and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management discussing the use of satellite as an alternative means of distribution of EAS information.

Certification: Bill Swartz not present. Nothing to report

Web: Chapter 54 web pages have been updated. SBE 54 logo is now present on the URL address bar.
Chapter 54 won best chapter website this year.

Frequency Coordination: Max Media has updated their Part 74 licenses to reflect recent changes.

Membership: Richard Dyer was present. Nothing to report.

Digital Transition: Chris Gunnufsen will send out an email to request time and location information
from those people who have signed up to be on the committee.

Nominating Committee: Frank Butler announced the 2006 election results:

An amendment to the Chapter by-laws defining the term of Board of Director members as 2 years has passed.

Other Business: Frank Butler received an award from the Chapter in appreciation of his outstanding service as Chapter Treasurer from 2004 to 2006.

Program: Karl Kuhn, Senior Video Application Engineer from Tektronix, spoke on compression protocols, transport streams, and MPEG fundamentals.
