Self-Introductions

Committee Reports(s):

Treasurer: Frank Butler reported the following:
Checking: $2,025.09
Certificate of Deposit: $1,790.75
Petty Cash: $338.74
Disbursements: Received two (2) checks totaling $1,299.00 from National and Tektronix.
Total Chapter Assets: $4,154.58

SBE National: Ted Hand will attend the SBE National Meeting, September 26-27 in Verona, New York. Ted Hand is the Education Committee Chairman. SBE National elections were held in August. Results are available at www.sbe.org.

EAS: Keith O’Malley not present. Surry test had very poor audio, not useable. December 31, 2006 is the FCC deadline for TV stations to have EAS audio and text information on every digital channel including sub-channels.

Certification: Bill Swartz not present. September 22nd is the deadline for the November 10-20 testing period.

Web: Ted Hand was present. The MP3 recording of monthly meeting will be picked up in the spring.

Frequency Coordination: Interference in the 950 MHz band to both WGH and WHRO/WHRV.

Membership: Richard Dyer was present. Nothing to report.

Digital Transition: Committee meeting will take place in October. Sign-up sheet made available at meeting.

Nominating Committee: Charles Stutsman named the following nominees for the October Chapter election:

An amendment to the Chapter by-laws was proposed that will re-define the terms of officers and board members. This amendment will be mailed out for member approval along with the election ballots.

Program: Forrest Zimmerman, Director of Advanced Product Development, spoke on Evertz RF products including the L-Band routing system, RF fiber optic transport and VistaLINK SNMP control software.
