Treasurer: Frank Butler reported the following:

Certificate of Deposit: $1,735.00
Petty Cash: $226.74
Total Chapter assets: $2,697.22
Disbursements: Check number 1078 in the amount of $211.79 to WHRO for March lunch. Checks 1079 and 1080 in the amount of $1,158.84 and $5200.00 written to WHRO and Gary Sgrignoli respectfully for the DTV Measurement seminar.

SBE National: SBE schedule during NAB is posted on the national website www.sbe.org . Nominations are being accepted for SBE National Awards on www.sbe.org . The Nominations Committee is seeking qualified members to run for the national Board of Directors. SBE members interesting in running should contact one of the committee members:

Certification: Bill Swartz not present. April 21 is the closing date for the June 2-12 exam period. Attending SBE chapter meetings, seminars, and online webinars can count as points towards recertification.

Web: Ted Hand not present.

Frequency Coordination: Ted Hand not present.

Membership: Richard Dyer was present. The 2006 SBE Membership Drive started March 1 goes to May 31, 2006. All current SBE members who sponsor a new member will receive $5 off your 2007 dues and are eligible for additional prizes. See more details in “the Signal” and www.sbe.org .

Digital Transition: Committee will start in May/June. Anyone interested in being on the committee should contact Chris Gunnufsen (Chrisg@whro.org). The committee will discuss topics related to the digital television transition.

VSB seminar: VSB measurement seminar books are available for purchase for $40. Contact Chris Gunnufsen if interested.

New Business: The Whitlock Group Convergence audio/video show will be held in Virginia Beach at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on Tuesday, May 16.

Program: The program was by Marquis Broadcast, Richard Gorbutt spoke on the Marquis software applications. Bi-directional media transfer between editing stations and video playback servers was discussed in addition to a Java-based application which helps operators resolve technical problems.
