Committee Report(s):

Treasurer: Checking - $1,992.05; C.D. - $1,697.35; Petty Cash - $226.74. Disbursements: Check number 1056 issued to WHRO to pay for January Lunch. Collected $93.00 for lunch. Chapter 54 total assets is $3,916.14

Freq. Coordinator: Ted: WNIS/WTAR – NEW STL Norfolk to Poquoson. National: R.J. Russell resigned as Treasurer. Taking a job with Nextel. (See SBE Signal). Barry Thomas named new Treasurer. Ralph Beaver appointed to the National Board of Directors to fill Barry’s seat.

Membership: Richard Dyer: Not present.

EAS: Keith O’Malley: Richmond making changes to state plan. Soon (6 mos. To a year) Amber Alerts will be initiated at the state level only. $1.5 million proposal to get EM-Net into all stations. EM-Net monthly tests to begin soon. Local activations to pass-thru VAEOC. Discussion on Amber Alerts – Inability to send termination tones. Currently done by Keith O’Malley via e-mail.

Certification: Bill Swartz: 1 March deadline for NAB exams. 22 April deadline for local exams from June 3-13. New certification: A.M Directional Specialist.

Web site: Service was down. Moved to NEW site (Broadcast.net). EAS info on site. “Amber Alert” ticker shows alerts nationwide.

Programs: Doug Davidson: March – LEITCH. New product introduction. Buying lunch.
April: NAB month. Possible local program TBA.
